Welcome »

Llantwit Major Judo Club – Our club is registered to the British Judo Council, the B.J.C. Welsh Area and affiliated to the British Judo Association. The club was started in 1972 by Sensei Peter Daniel (5th Dan & Club President) and assisted by Sensei Jim McLean (2nd Dan). The club was run to encourage the sport within the local community and I am proud that in 1988, I became the club’s first black belt.

I have had the pleasure of running the club since 1990 and I was promoted to 3rd Dan in April 2007. In 2003, I completed the BJC Level 2 Coaching Award with the late B.J.C. Technical Director, Sensei Hosaka (8th Dan Kodokan) – currently the highest coaching qualification available and in September 2011, I renewed this qualification again.

I am grateful to many people: Sensei Peter Daniel & Sensei Jim McLean obviously, Colin Gaffney, and many other original Llantwit Players for their assistance over the years.

If you have any queries, please visit any of the Instructors at the club or you may wish to phone me on 07971 320336, where there is an answer phone facility.
